Languages

Lattice is available in English only at the moment. The language control at the top of the page lists the languages the Portal can currently be read in, which today is one.

IAAM works with members in more than 150 countries, and further languages are intended. Until then, if English is a barrier to completing something here — a membership application, an abstract, a manuscript or a nomination — write to [email protected] and the Secretariat will help in whatever way they can.

Translations of IAAM's published documents, where they exist, are on iaamonline.org.

Cookies

Lattice sets 4 cookies and every one of them is strictly necessary — the site cannot sign you in or keep your forms safe without them. There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking on this site.

CookieWhat it doesHow long
member_portal_session Keeps you signed in while you are using the Portal. 2 hours
XSRF-TOKEN Proves a form was submitted from this site and not another one. 2 hours
remember-web-… Signs you back in on this device. Set only if you tick "Keep me signed in". 5 years, or until you sign out
iaam_consent Remembers this cookie choice, so you are not asked again. 1 year

All four are first-party: they are set by this site and sent to nobody else. Because each is strictly necessary, they do not require your consent under the ePrivacy Directive, and you cannot switch them off while using the Portal — signing out removes the ones that identify you.

Other sites

Typefaces are served by Bunny Fonts, which sets no cookies and keeps no logs of who requests them. The social links in the footer are ordinary links: nothing from those networks loads here, and they can set nothing until you choose to follow one.

If that changes

Should IAAM ever add something that is not strictly necessary — a visitor counter, an embedded video, a bot check — you will be asked first, and you can change your answer here at any time.

Privacy policy

IAAM's privacy policy is published in full on the IAAM website. What follows describes what this Portal in particular does with your information.

Who holds your information

The International Association of Advanced Materials, a non-profit registered in Sweden under organisation number 802503-6784, at Gammalkilsvägen 18, Ulrika 590 53, Sweden.

What this Portal records

What you give it: your name and title, date of birth, gender, email address and any alternative address, affiliation, country and telephone number — then whatever you go on to do here, such as abstracts, congress registrations, manuscripts, peer reviews, award nominations, certificates and invoices. Your IAAM ID is what links those records together.

The assistant

When you ask Lucy a question, the question is sent to OpenAI to be answered. Signed in, your own records are sent with it so she can answer about them; signed out, nothing of yours is sent, because there is nothing to send. Never type a password or anything you would not want read by a third party.

Who else sees it

IAAM staff handling your membership, submission or registration. Where you have submitted to a congress, the conference registration form states that your name and affiliation may be shared with other attendees, and with that conference's sponsors and exhibitors as listed on its website. Peer review is double-blind: reviewers are not told who the authors are, and authors are not told who reviewed.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of what IAAM holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is used. Much of it you can change yourself under your profile. For anything else, write to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with the response you may complain to your national data protection authority.

The full and binding policy: iaamonline.org/privacy-policy. Where the two differ, that one governs.

This site

Lattice, at lattice.iaamonline.org, is IAAM's own online portal. It is the only address at which IAAM asks you to sign in. If you have arrived here from a link, check that the address ends in iaamonline.org before entering anything.

Reporting something

A site or message impersonating IAAM: report fraud or phishing. A security weakness in this site: report an IT vulnerability. Please do not publish a vulnerability before IAAM has had a chance to fix it.

Terms of use

IAAM's terms and conditions are published in full on the IAAM website. What follows is how they apply to this Portal.

Your account

An IAAM account belongs to one person. It is not to be shared, sold or transferred, and you are responsible for what is done through it. Keep your password to yourself: nobody at IAAM will ever ask you for it, by email, by telephone or through the assistant on this site.

What you submit

Abstracts, manuscripts, nominations and profile details must be accurate, must be yours to submit, and must not infringe anyone else's rights. Submission does not oblige IAAM to accept, publish or recognise anything. Editorial and award decisions rest with IAAM and its committees.

Fair use

Do not attempt to gain access to accounts or data that are not yours, disrupt the service, scrape it, or use it to send unsolicited messages to other members. IAAM may suspend an account being used this way.

Availability

The Portal is provided as it stands. IAAM aims to keep it running and accurate but does not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it may change as the service develops.

The full and binding terms: iaamonline.org/terms-conditions. Where the two differ, those govern.

Accessibility

IAAM wants Lattice to be usable by everyone who needs it, whatever they are using to read it.

What this page does

  • Every form field has a real, visible label, and errors are given in words rather than colour alone.
  • Everything can be reached and operated from the keyboard, and the focused element is always visible.
  • It reflows to a phone-width screen without sideways scrolling, and text can be enlarged.
  • It follows your system's light or dark setting.
  • It honours "reduce motion": animations are dropped when you have asked your device for less movement.
  • Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.

What is not yet claimed

This site has not yet been formally audited against WCAG 2.2 level AA, so IAAM does not claim conformance with it. Parts of the Portal outside this page have not been reviewed at all, and some older screens are known to be weaker.

If something blocks you

Please tell us, and say what you were trying to do and what you were using — that is usually the fastest route to a fix. Write to [email protected]. If something here stops you completing a membership application, a submission or a registration, the Secretariat can complete it with you in the meantime.

Cookies on Lattice

Lattice uses 4 cookies, and every one of them is needed for the site to work: they keep you signed in, protect the forms against cross-site request forgery, and remember this choice. There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking on this site, so there is nothing else to agree to.
